I begin every session by asking how I can make it perfect for you. I carefully listen to your goals for the session and provide exactly what you need to heal.
My approach to massage is quite different from most therapists. I use a wide variety of techniques based on your individual needs. I do not have a “cookie-cutter” or “one-size-fits-all” approach for my clients. I am confident in my ability to relieve or eliminate your pain and tension—whether you’ve been recently injured, experience occasional soreness, or suffer from chronic pain.
I specialize in Deep Tissue Massage for acute and chronic pain, injury treatment, car accidents (whiplash), headaches, strains and sprains, medical massage, and sports injuries. I begin most sessions by applying heat packs to the areas I’ll be working on. This feels amazing and helps calm your muscles and nervous system. You’ll slowly feel your muscles begin to unwind.
During the massage, I use the exact amount of pressure needed to relieve tight and sore muscles, adjusting my pressure according to your comfort level. As your muscles begin to relax, I apply more advanced techniques to reach the deeper layers that may be causing your pain. Occasionally, there may be brief discomfort, but once the pressure is released, you’ll feel a surge of circulation as fresh, oxygenated blood replaces the old—helping your muscles begin to heal.
I also incorporate passive and assisted stretching techniques to reduce tension and increase flexibility. I believe stretching tight muscles is key to recovery. During the session, I assess your range of motion to identify restrictions and patterns of muscle constriction that may have developed over time. My advanced methods help lengthen tight muscles, allowing greater mobility with less pain.
After your session, I’ll demonstrate how to stretch specific muscles contributing to your pain, tension, and limited movement.
